On October 10, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic missions and international organizations, and cultural envoys of Mongolia joined a ‘One billion trees’ nationwide campaign, initiated by the President of Mongolia, and planted trees in the ‘Shine Nalaikh’ park in Nalaikh district.
In his opening remarks, the President of Mongolia, U.Khurelsukh, said, “Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the world, and planting trees is a key to overcome it. As about 75 percent of Mongolia's territory is affected by desertification and land degradation, we urge every citizen to plant and grow trees.”
The staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Mongolia agreed to cooperate in planting trees further.
