NALAIKH SETTLEMENT
/1922-1955/
Nalaikh settlement was established when State Government started coal mining in Nalaikh and people began to settle in that region.
COAL MINERS ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT OF ULAANBAATAR CITY
/1955-1962/
New settlement region developed with coal mine and had access to public services like school, hospital, store, cafeteria, and apartments, even Miners’ Cultural Palace.
NALAIKH CITY
/1962-1965/
In 1962, Nalaikh became a city instead of administrative unit of Ulaanbaatar city by the resolution number 88 of People’s Great khural of Mongolian People’s Republic.
NALAIKH ZONE
/1965-1992/
In 1965, It became an industrialization zone of Ulaanbaatar city by the resolution number 79 of People’s Great Khural of Mongolian People’s Republic. Nalaikh zone was the 5th zone of Ulaanbaatar city that time.
NALAIKH DISTRICT
(1992-Until present)
In 1992, the status of Nalaikh district was approved by the new Constitutional Law. In the Constitutional Law, states that “Capital city is divided into districts and districts are divided into khoroo as an administrative unit and territorial unit of Mongolia”. Wherefore Nalaikh has evolved as a district until present.
